39:4-2. Transfer of powers and duties of commissioner to director of Division of Motor Vehicles All the powers and duties heretofore exercised and performed by the commission created by an act entitled "An act to establish a traffic commission and to define its powers and duties," approved April fifteenth, one thousand nine hundred and thirty (L.1930, c. 148, p. 564), and its amendments and supplements, which powers and duties were transferred to and vested in the commissioner by an act entitled "An act vesting in the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of this State all the powers and duties heretofore exercised and performed by the commission created by an act entitled "An act to establish a traffic commission and to define its powers and duties,' approved April fifteenth, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and the acts amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto," approved June twelfth, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two (L.1932, c. 179, s. 1, p. 306), and which powers and duties were transferred to and vested in the director by an act entitled "An act relating to the reorganization of the executive and administrative offices, departments, and instrumentalities of the State Government; and establishing and concerning a Department of Law and Public Safety as a principal department in the executive branch of the State Government," approved October fifteenth, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight (P.L.1948, c. 439), shall continue to be so vested in the director. Amended by L.1951, c. 23, p. 66, s. 2.
