39:3-27.29. Issuance of special registration plates for vehicles owned or leased by certain county officials Upon the application of any person who is a member of the board of chosen freeholders in, or surrogate, county clerk, county register of deeds and mortgages, elected county executive, sheriff, or any other officer of any county, the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles shall issue for the motor vehicle owned or leased by such person special registration plates bearing the word "freeholder, surrogate, county clerk, county register of deeds and mortgages, elected county executive, or sheriff," or such other title designation as may be appropriate, in addition to the registration number and other markings or identification otherwise prescribed by law. These registration plates shall be imprinted with three letters and a numeral. L.1981,c.401,s.1; amended 1991,c.146,s.1.
