38A:3-8. Classes of personnel. 38A:3-8. The personnel of the Department of Military Affairs shall consist of the following classes of persons: (a) Officers and enlisted members who are ordered to active duty on a permanent duty status, with the pay allowances of their grade and length of service in accordance with section 38A:4-3 of this title. (b) Classified civil service employees. (c) Unclassified civil service employees, who may be relieved, suspended, or discharged for good cause. Such personnel shall be administered as far as practicable under similar regulations as those applicable to classified civil service, but shall be subject to military discipline and control as the Commissioner deems appropriate and shall include all personnel employed for the maintenance of armories. (d) Technicians paid from federal funds. Such personnel shall be appointed by the Adjutant General, who shall determine their salaries and who may relieve, suspend or discharge such persons at any time for good cause, and shall be subject to military discipline and control.
