Refusal or revocation; suspension; renewal

34:8-53. Refusal or revocation; suspension; renewal The director may refuse to issue, and may revoke, any license for failure to comply with, or violation of, the provisions of this act or for any other good cause shown, within the meaning and purpose of this act. A refusal or revocation shall not be made except upon reasonable notice to, and opportunity to be heard by, the applicant or licensee. The director may, if he finds it to be in the public interest, suspend a license for any period of time that he determines to be proper or assess a penalty in lieu of suspension, or both, and may issue a new license, notwithstanding the revocation of a prior license, provided that he finds the applicant to have become entitled to the new license.
