Public purposes

32:2-23.38. Public purposes The acquisition, development, financing, leasing, sale, transfer or other disposition by the port authority of buses and ancillary bus facilities in accordance with this act are and will be in all respects for the benefit of the people of the said two states, for the increase of their commerce and prosperity and for the improvement of their health, safety and living conditions and shall be deemed to be public purposes, and the port authority shall be regarded as performing an essential governmental function in undertaking such acquisition, development, financing, leasing, sale, transfer or other disposition or otherwise carrying out the provisions of this act.
