32:1-35.59. Effectuation of purposes of act as constituting essential governmental function The effectuation of the world trade center, the Hudson tubes and the Hudson tubes extensions, or of any of such facilities constituting a portion of the port development project, are and will be in all respects for the benefit of the people of the States of New York and New Jersey, for the increase of their commerce and prosperity and for the improvement of their health and living conditions; and the port authority and any subsidiary corporation incorporated for any of the purposes of this act shall be regarded as performing an essential governmental function in undertaking the effectuation thereof, and in carrying out the provisions of law relating thereto.
