Penalty for reimprisoning; aiding or assisting; misdemeanor

2A:67-32. Penalty for reimprisoning; aiding or assisting; misdemeanor Any person, either solely or as a member of any court, or in the execution of any order, judgment or process, who shall knowingly recommit, imprison or restrain of his liberty, or cause to be recommitted, imprisoned or restrained of his liberty, for the same cause, except as provided by section 2A:67-31 of this title, any person so discharged or who shall knowingly aid or assist therein shall forfeit to the party aggrieved the sum of $1400, to be recovered in an action at law in the superior court and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
