Statement by physician or dentist of injuries and amount of charges

2A:44-44. Statement by physician or dentist of injuries and amount of charges Any person legally liable or against whom a claim is asserted, or his representative, for damages for injuries sustained shall, upon written request, be furnished by any physician or dentist asserting a lien under this article with a statement of the injuries sustained by the injured person and an itemized statement of the charges and services rendered to date. Failure of a physician or dentist to provide such statement shall constitute a valid defense in an action brought to enforce a lien under this article.
