N.J.S.A. 2A:158-18.1 — Legal assistant to county prosecutor in first class counties of 800,000 or less

2A:158-18.1. Legal assistant to county prosecutor in first class counties of 800,000 or less In counties of the first class having a population not in excess of eight hundred thousand there is created in the office of the county prosecutor, the office or position of legal assistant to the county prosecutor which shall be in the unclassified service of the civil service. The prosecutor of each of the said counties may appoint, subject to the approval hereinafter required, suitable persons to said office or position, not in excess of twelve and at salaries not less than six thousand dollars ($6,000.00) nor more than nine thousand dollars ($9,000.00) annually. Every such legal assistant shall serve at the pleasure of the county prosecutor and be subject to removal by such prosecutor. Before entering upon the performance of his duties every such legal assistant shall take and subscribe, before the county clerk of the county in and for which he is appointed, an oath to perform the duties of his office faithfully, impartially and justly to the best of his ability.
