Saving clause

2A:157-21. Saving clause Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, nothing herein shall be construed to require an increase in any salaries heretofore paid or to be paid in any county, unless and until the salary schedules herein provided shall be adopted by resolution of the county board of chosen freeholders. Nothing in this chapter provided shall be construed to reduce the amount of salary now being paid to any person, to affect the pension rights of any person, to effect the transfer of the holder of any office or position from the classified to the unclassified service of the civil service, or to terminate tenure rights vested, by the provisions of any law repealed by this chapter, in any person continued in office or position in the unclassified service.
