Service of process; fees

2A:157-17. Service of process; fees County detectives and county investigators may serve or execute for the sheriff any process or writ in any criminal proceeding and make return thereof. For every process or writ so served or executed by a county detective or county investigator, the sheriff shall be entitled to collect and receive the same fees, and to tax such fees in the bills of costs, as if the process or writ had been served by him.
