9 years; actions on bonds of sheriffs, county treasurers and municipal collectors or treasurers

2A:14-17. 9 years; actions on bonds of sheriffs, county treasurers and municipal collectors or treasurers No action at law brought upon any bond given by any sheriff and his sureties for the faithful performance of the office of sheriff, or by any county treasurer and his sureties for the faithful performance of the duties of the office of such treasurer, or by any collector or treasurer of any municipality and his sureties for the faithful performance of the duties of the office of such collector or treasurer, shall in any way operate against or affect the sureties named in and bound by the bond, unless such action shall be commenced within 9 years next after the date of the bond.
