Contempt by sheriff or other officer

2A:10-6. Contempt by sheriff or other officer 2A:10-6. A sheriff or other officer to whom any writ, process, judgment or order of the Superior Court is directed or delivered, who shall be adjudged in contempt of the court for failure to make return thereof or thereto, shall, before he is discharged from his contempt pay to the clerk of the court a sum not exceeding $50 as a fine, to be imposed by the court, together with the costs incurred.
