27:7-45. Designation of bridges as state highway bridges The commissioner may designate any bridge which connects at each end with improved roads in the state highway system as a state highway bridge, whenever, in his judgment, the cost of operation or repair thereof is, in view of the traffic carried thereby, an inequitable charge on the board or boards of chosen freeholders charged or to be charged by law with such costs.
