Allocation of federal funds

27:5F-28. Allocation of federal funds The federal funds apportioned and allocated to the State pursuant to the "U.S. Highway Safety Act of 1966," Pub.L. 89-564 (23 U.S.C. s.s. 401-404), or any other federal law, rule or regulation shall be utilized for such highway traffic safety purposes as the Governor shall deem appropriate. In the event that federal funds are apportioned and allocated to the State pursuant to the "U.S. Highway Safety Act of 1966," Pub.L. 89-564 (23 U.S.C. s.s. 401-404), on the basis of existing State and local highway safety traffic programs and activities, the Governor is authorized, in his discretion and subject to the approval of the appropriate federal agency with respect to the allocation and payment of the local share of such federal funds, to do whatever must be done to avail the State of the federal funds.
