Deputy commissioner; appointment; term of office; powers and duties; compensation

27:1A-12. Deputy commissioner; appointment; term of office; powers and duties; compensation To assist the commissioner in the performance of his duties, the commissioner may appoint a deputy commissioner who shall also serve as executive director. The deputy commissioner shall serve at the pleasure of the commissioner and until his successor has been appointed and qualified and shall have such powers and duties as may be delegated to him by the commissioner from time to time. The deputy commissioner shall receive such salary as may be established by the commissioner with the approval of the President of the Civil Service Commission and the Director of the Division of Budget and Accounting.
