26:8-27 Inquiries to applicants for marriage or civil union license. 26:8-27. Inquiries to applicants for marriage or civil union license. The department shall issue to each local registrar and to city clerks of cities of the first class, the form and substance of the several inquiries to be made of applicants for a marriage license or a civil union license and their witnesses for the purpose of ascertaining whether any legal impediment to any proposed marriage or civil union exists. The form shall not contain any inquiries or information which concerns the race of an applicant for a marriage or civil union license. Amended 1965, c.78, s.49; 2002, c.88, s.1; 2006, c.103, s.43.
