26:8-23 Duty of the department; examination of records. 26:8-23. The Department of Health shall have charge of the registration of births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages, civil unions, and domestic partnerships and shall procure the prompt and accurate registration of the same in each registration district and in the department. The department may promulgate any rule or regulation which it deems necessary for the uniform and thorough enforcement of this section.
