26:8-12. Approval of appointment by state department The appointment of a local registrar shall be immediately certified to the state department, but shall not become effective until thirty days from the date of filing of the certificate, unless sooner approved in writing by the department. If within the thirty days the department shall disapprove of the appointment, the office shall be deemed vacant.
