Discharge or threat of discharge of radioactivity; prevention or abatement; recovery of costs

26:2D-20. Discharge or threat of discharge of radioactivity; prevention or abatement; recovery of costs In the event of a discharge of radioactivity, or threat thereof, resulting from a radiation source in storage or transit in this State, the department may recover from any shipper, carrier, bailor, bailee, or any other person responsible for the storage or transportation of such radiation source, the costs incurred by the department for the prevention or abatement of such discharge or the removal of the effects thereof.
