24:8-2. Labeling containers of caustic acids and alkalies intended for household use No person shall give away, sell, barter, exchange, or offer for sale, at wholesale or retail, any caustic acids or caustic alkalies or preparations containing such acids or alkalies, intended for household use, without affixing to the package or container containing the same, a label printed or plainly written, containing: a. The name of the article; b. The name and place of business of the manufacturer, seller, or distributor; c. The word "Poison" running parallel with the main body of the reading matter on the label, placed on a clear plain background of a distinctly contrasting color, in uncondensed Gothic capital letters, not less than 24-point in size, unless there is on the label no other type as large, in which event the type shall not be smaller than the largest type on the label; and d. Directions for treatment in case of accidental personal injury from any such acid or alkali, together with the names of two readily obtainable antidotes.
