Definitions.

24:6B-12 Definitions. 13. For the purposes of this registration act, unless otherwise required by the context: (a) "Commissioner" means Commissioner of Health or the commissioner's designated representative. (b) "Department" means the Department of Health. (c) "Drugs" means "drugs" and "devices" as defined in R.S.24:1-1. (d) "Person" means a natural person, partnership, corporation, or any other business association. (e) "Registrant" means the person in whose name a drug manufacturing business or wholesale non-prescription drug business is registered. (f) "Drug manufacturing business" means the business of creating, making, or producing drugs by compounding, growing, or other process. This definition shall apply to persons engaged in the drug manufacturing business who do not maintain a manufacturing location in this State but do operate distribution depots or warehouses of such business in this State. This definition shall not apply to licensed pharmacies or to licensed professional individuals such as, but not limited to, pharmacists, physicians, dentists, or veterinarians when engaged in the lawful pursuit of their professions. (g) "Wholesale drug business" means the business of supplying non-prescription drugs to persons other than the ultimate consumer. This definition shall not apply to licensed pharmacies or to licensed professional individuals such as, but not limited to, pharmacists, physicians, dentists, or veterinarians when engaged in the lawful pursuit of their professions, and shall not apply to a registered drug manufacturing business.
