State inspectors, analysts and employees; continuation of former practices and procedures for a period not in excess of 1 year

24:16B-8. State inspectors, analysts and employees; continuation of former practices and procedures for a period not in excess of 1 year The secretary may appoint such analysts, chemists, chief inspectors and other inspectors and employees as may be authorized by law, and the persons thus appointed shall perform such duties as may be assigned to them by the secretary. The secretary shall fix the salaries of all such officers and employees subject to the provisions of Title 11, Civil Service, of the Revised Statutes except when otherwise provided by statute. The secretary, in order to facilitate the orderly transition and implementation of this act, may continue the practices and procedures formerly conducted by the Department of Health in administering the meat inspection program for a period not in excess of 1 year from the effective date of this act.
