24:16B-33. Contents of labels The board may prescribe by rule or regulation such information to appear on any container, package or label bearing any animal carcass, part thereof, meat or meat food product or animal food product as follows: (a) The styles and sizes of types to be used with respect to material required to be incorporated in labeling to avoid false or misleading labeling of animal carcasses, parts thereof, meat or meat food products or animal food products; provided, however, the board must first obtain the advice and consent of the State Superintendent, Division of Weights and Measures, to such rules and regulations. (b) Definitions and standards of identity or composition of meat or meat food products. (c) Such other information as may be necessary in order to prevent any false, misleading, deceptive or fraudulent labeling; mislabeling, misbranding or otherwise improper labeling; provided, however, the board must first obtain the advice and consent of the State Superintendent, Division of Weights and Measures, to such rules and regulations. Nothing herein shall be construed to confer authority upon the board to prescribe rules and regulations affecting the quantitative statement appearing on the container, package or label.
