Definitions

24:12-8. Definitions As used in this act: "Bottled water" means all noncarbonated water which is sealed in bottles, packages or other containers and offered for sale for human consumption, including bottled mineral or spring water. "Local health authority" means the local board of health of any municipality or the board, body or officers in a municipality lawfully exercising any of the powers of the local board of health under the laws governing the municipality, and includes any consolidated board of health or county board of health created and established pursuant to law. "Plant" means a building or facility, or parts thereof, used for or in conjunction with the manufacturing and bottling of bottled water. "Product water" means processed water used by a plant for bottled drinking water. "Source water" means water from a spring, artesian well, drilled well, public water system, public community water system or any other source which is used for or in connection with bottled water.
