Additional rules and regulations for milk products and their imitations

24:10-57.24b. Additional rules and regulations for milk products and their imitations The State Department of Health in addition to its other regulatory powers shall promulgate such rules and regulations governing the production, handling, processing, distribution and sale of milk products and fluid milk products and their imitations, as may be necessary to preserve and promote public health. These regulations shall include the following subjects: a. Definitions and standards of quality; b. Sanitation; c. Dating and labeling, except for that as prescribed by P.L.1964, c. 62, s. 23 (C. 24:10-57.23); d. Holding temperatures for storage, distribution facilities and retail establishments. In promulgating regulations under authority of this section, the department shall give consideration to applicable regulations or recommendations as may be made by Federal or national agencies.
