19:32-26.8 Appointment to fill office. 6. a. An individual shall be appointed to fill the office of superintendent of elections, pursuant to section 1 of P.L.1947, c.167 (C.19:32-26) and an individual shall be appointed to fill the office of deputy superintendent of elections, pursuant to section 1 of P.L.1992, c.17 (C.19:32-26.1), in a participating county if the offices are re-established pursuant to either section 3 or section 5 of P.L.2013, c.17 (C.19:32-26.5 or C.19:32-26.7), as the case may be. b. A participating county is hereby authorized to abolish the office of the superintendent of elections and the office of the deputy superintendent of elections, pursuant to P.L.2013, c.17 (C.19:32-26.3 et seq.), notwithstanding the provisions of section 1 of P.L.1947, c.167 (C.19:32-26).
