19:23-38. Municipal clerk to members of district boards; receipt The municipal clerk shall on the day preceding the primary election cause to be delivered, at his office, to a member or members of the district board of each election district within his municipality, the ballots and the ballot boxes provided for each election district, and any registers, poll books and other documents that he may have received from the county clerk, the county board or the commissioner, and take a receipt from such member or members therefor, which last mentioned receipt the clerk of the municipality shall file and preserve for one year.
