Free scholarships; number; qualifications and terms

18A:65-39. Free scholarships; number; qualifications and terms The university shall, in each year, furnish gratuitous education in the courses of instruction described in section 18A:65-38, in such manner as may be prescribed by the legislature, or otherwise, to such number of students of the university as would expend for their instruction in the university a sum equal to one half of the payment, under section 18A:65-37, for said year, if they were required to pay therefor at the regular rates charged therefor to other students. The students so nominated and received shall be citizens of this state, and shall be admitted into the university upon the same terms, and subject to the same rules and discipline, as apply to all other students of the university, save that they shall not be required to pay for their instruction.
