Sale of unclaimed property

17:9A-293. Sale of unclaimed property If, after the expiration of one year from the time of mailing the notice pursuant to section 290, there shall remain any unclaimed property, the commissioner shall offer it for sale at public auction upon such terms and conditions as he shall determine. After retaining from the proceeds of such sale the costs thereof, and the costs of publishing, opening, inventorying, removal, and storage, and the accrued charges or rent, the commissioner shall hold the balance of such proceeds as unclaimed funds, to be disposed of pursuant to section 286.
