Service of process on Commissioner as attorney for foreign investment company

17:16A-6. Service of process on Commissioner as attorney for foreign investment company When any original process is served upon the commissioner as attorney for an investment company of another State, and a service fee of $10.00 paid to him, he shall forthwith notify the company of such service by letter directed to its secretary, or resident manager in the case of a company of a foreign country; and shall within 2 days after such service forward by letter a copy of the process served on him to such secretary or manager, or to such other person as may have been previously designated by the company by written notice filed in the department. The commissioner shall keep a record of all such process, which shall show the day and hour of service. The serving of such process shall be made by leaving a copy of the same in the office of the commissioner with a service fee of $2.00. Service upon the commissioner as herein provided shall be deemed sufficient service upon the company. The plaintiff in the action shall be entitled to recover the amount of the service fee so paid as part of the taxable costs if he prevails in the action. L.1938, c. 322, p. 821, s. 6.
