Fire protection; technical assistance to local government

13:1L-16. Fire protection; technical assistance to local government The department shall: a. Minimize the threat to life, property, and damage to forest resources through the use of appropriate fire prevention, presuppression and suppression practices; b. Provide information and technical assistance to units of local government, including but not limited to Shade Tree Commissions and Soil Conservation Districts, to encourage urban and community forestry programs.
