Racing exemption

12:7-23.4. Racing exemption The provisions of this act shall not apply to power vessels registered and actually participating in racing events, or tuneup periods for racing events, when authorized by the Division of State Police in the Department of Law and Public Safety or by any other public authority with the approval of the Division of State Police. L. 1987, c. 269, s. 4. 12:7-23.5. Violations, penalties 5. A person who violates any provision of this act or any regulation adopted pursuant to this act is subject to a fine of not less than $100 for the first offense, $300 for the second offense, and $500 for the third and each subsequent offense.
