Law operative only after adoption

1:6-17. Law operative only after adoption Any such private, special or local law passed pursuant to any such petition shall become operative in such municipality or county only when the same shall have been adopted by the vote of the legal voters thereof as hereinafter provided, unless otherwise prescribed in such law.
